Turkey: The 63rd International Raisin Conference was held

The 2022/23 season of Turkey, which is by far the world leader in raisin production and export, started on September 1, 2022. Exports of seedless raisins reached 110 countries and amounted to 426 million dollars. Raisin exports increased by 2 percent in quantity and reached 251 thousand tons. The 63rd International Seedless Raisin Producing Countries Conference was hosted by the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association, with the participation of delegations from Argentina, Australia, Chile, South Africa, Turkey and the USA. At the meeting, Turkey declared that it would produce 22 percent of the world's 1 million 90 thousand tons of seedless raisins on its own, with a yield of 246 thousand 346 tons. Grape yield decreased by 23 percent compared to the 2022 crop. The USA ranks second with a production of 200 thousand 274 tons, and China ranks third with a yield of 190 thousand tons of seedless raisins.
