The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is collaborating with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promote Korean agricultural products through Korean Wave content such as dramas, starting in 2022. After a drama promoting domestically produced pears was aired in Southeast Asia, pear exports from Malaysia and Singapore in that month increased by 16.5% and 67.4% compared to the previous year. The ministry plans to promote a total of 10 items through Korean Wave content, such as paprika and grapes, to expand exports of Korean agricultural products internationally.
