The Baltic ATC in the Odessa region of Ukraine is planning to establish a center for the study and selection of almonds, as announced by Vasily Babansky, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Walnut Association. The center will involve foreign experts and will be the base for a collection garden with over 50 almond varieties from America, Europe, Central Asia, and Moldova. In collaboration with a foreign research institute, Babansky will attend a training workshop in the spring of 2023 to learn about selection work organization. The center will also focus on creating a highly effective double material for transitioning almond orchards to other planting patterns.
