Bulgaria: A farm pig in Saedinenie died of ASF

A pig on a private farm in the town of Saedinenie died of African swine fever. Subsequently, after a laboratory blood test, it was found that it was infected with this disease, said the press center of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency. No other pigs were kept on the farm. "We will not kill all the pigs in the 3-kilometer zone, which practically covers only the town of Saedinenie," the director of the Regional Directorate for Food Safety, Dr. Ivan Shikov, told Agro Plovdiv. "We will proceed with this measure only if there are animals with signs of the disease or if there is another backyard pig farm next to the yard with the infected animal," he said.
