A pigeon slaughterhouse and processing plant will be built in Hungary

The head of the ministry reminded that in December 2018 the “Soaring Economy” National Meat Pigeon Program was announced, which meant a serious boom for the whole sector. In addition, additional tender programs have been developed to develop the meat pigeon product line in order to strengthen the single commodity base. Since 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture has also been contributing to the purchase of the pigeon, amounting to approximately HUF 50 million per year. In the last three years, almost HUF 140 million in subsidies have been granted for the purchase of more than 25,000 meat pigeons. The application will be announced again this year, applications will be submitted from 1 to 8 April 2022. It will be possible to submit it in the period between 2006 and 2006, István Nagy announced.
