In recent Argentine agricultural campaigns, the technical conversation about hormonal herbicides has become unavoidable. Every year, several provinces report problems related to the drift of these chemicals, which cause losses in sensitive crops of neighboring farmers. Recently, cases were made public in Chaco, Santiago del Estero, and Salta, where total losses in corn, cotton, and legumes were reported due to the improper applications of neighbors. In this context, Aapresid, the direct sowing producers' association, has developed a list of recommendations when applying compounds such as 2.4D, a major player in many neighbor problems, as it can be applied to soybeans but is harmful to nearby crops.
