Abiarroz: Brazil exports 164.4 thousand tons of rice in August

Brazilian rice exports (husk-based) reached 164.4 thousand tons in August. In terms of revenue, shipments of the cereal abroad totaled US$ 66.2 million. The figures were released by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Also according to Abiarroz, there was a 41.5% drop in the volume of shipments compared to the same month last year, when Brazil exported 280.9 thousand tons. In terms of revenue, which was US$ 97.4 million in August 2023, the drop reached 32%. Meanwhile, foreign sales of milled rice totaled 103.5 thousand tons, with foreign exchange of US$ 36.8 million in August. In the same month of 2023, shipments of the processed rice reached 130.9 thousand tons, with revenue of US$ 40.1 million.
