Brazilian chicken and pork exports saw an increase in 2020, particularly to Asian markets, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). Chicken meat exports totaled 1,635 million tons, a 5.8% increase from 2019, with China as the main importer. Pork exports rose by 36% to 1.02 million tons, 80% of which were sold to Asia, led by China. However, exports to the Middle East saw a 5.7% decrease, while those to the Americas fell by 15.5%. Despite the impact of African swine fever, the director of ABPA's markets expects continued sales of Brazilian exporters in 2021.
