Ica, a major food exporting region in Peru, has seen a 22.7% increase in food dispatches between January and July of this year, amounting to US $ 975,595,000, compared to the same period in 2020. This growth continues a steady trend from previous years, with increases of 16%, 5%, 12%, and 7% in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. The main exports include grapes, avocados, pomegranates, asparagus, and wilkings. The United States and the Netherlands were the top buyers, accounting for half of the total exports. The Association of Exporters (ADEX) is organizing the Virtual Food Expo 2021 to further promote these shipments.
