The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) of Argentina reported a general inflation of 3.2% in June, adding up to 25.3% for the year. The report highlighted that the cost of communication and alcoholic beverages and tobacco have risen the most. The category of food and non-alcoholic beverages, a concern for the government, experienced a 3.2% increase, but not all food groups rose at the same rate. Prices for meat, dairy, bread, oils, and coffee saw significant hikes, while fruits and vegetables became cheaper in most regions. The most significant price increases were observed in specific areas like Cuyo for meat, Greater Buenos Aires for dairy, and the Northwest for oils and fats, while the largest decreases were in Cuyo for fruits and in most regions for vegetables, tubers, and legumes.
