The Strategie Grains agency has lowered its forecast for the EU's 2024 sunflower and rapeseed harvests due to unfavorable weather, predicting a 10% decrease in sunflower yield to 8.9 million tons and a 16.5% drop in rapeseed yield to 16.7 million tons, with Germany experiencing the largest reduction. These cuts are expected to support oil crop prices in Europe and Ukraine. The soybean harvest forecast remains unchanged at 2.9 million tons, but new EU deforestation regulations could drive up prices. Rapeseed planting is expected to increase by 4% next season, while sunflower areas will stay the same. Meanwhile, Canada's canola harvest forecast has been raised to 19 million tons, nearly matching last season's yield.
