The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) reports a 5.3% increase in the value of agri-food exports from Latin America and Caribbean countries from April 2020 to March 2021, despite the pandemic. This growth of 5.3% is higher than the global average of 5.2%. The surge was primarily driven by a 430% increase in soy exports to China. Honduras saw the highest growth with a 41.7% increase, followed by Paraguay, Bolivia, and Belize. Mexico's agri-food exports also saw a 4% increase, placing it in the top ten. The exports also saw a significant rise in meat products like frozen and fresh bovine, pork, and chicken.
