From January to June 2021, agribusiness exports from São Paulo increased by 11% to US$ 9.20 billion, while imports grew 3.7% to US$ 2.24 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$ 6.96 billion, a 13.5% increase from the same period in 2020. The state's total exports reached US$ 25.03 billion and imports US$ 32.35 billion, resulting in a deficit of US$ 7.32 billion. The main groups in agribusiness exports were the Sugar and Alcohol Complex, Soy Complex, Meat, Juices, and Forestry Products. China was the main destination for exports from São Paulo, followed by the European Union and the United States. Brazil's trade balance had a positive balance of US$ 36.73 billion from January to June 2021, with agribusiness exports increasing by 20.8% to US$ 61.49 billion.
