Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR) has seen a significant increase in agricultural production, with a surge of over 25% in the past three years, as per the region's Minister of Economic Development, Boris Rakhaev. This growth is primarily due to federal support, land reclamation, and subsidies. The region's agriculture sector is dominated by crop and livestock production, with an emphasis on intensive gardens and import substitution. In 2020, KBR harvested a record 517.3 thousand tons of fruit and berry products, and is projected to surpass this in 2021. The region now contributes over a third of the country's industrial fruit and berry harvest.
