Egypt has successfully opened its first market in Vietnam for grape exports, a milestone achieved after over five years of negotiations between the Egyptian and Vietnamese Agricultural Quarantines. This initiative is part of the country's broader strategy to enhance its agricultural exports, which have seen a significant increase in value, reaching $4.1 billion from July to October 2024, surpassing the previous year's figures by over $1 billion. The ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, led by Alaa Farouk, is spearheading efforts to open new markets and improve access to existing ones, with grapes being among Egypt's key agricultural exports, including citrus fruits, potatoes, onions, and various other produce.
