Agriculture calls the Alimentos España Award to the best extra virgin olive oils

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has announced this Wednesday the "Food of Spain Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils" Award for the 2025-2026 campaign, to contribute to the promotion of extra virgin olive oils. The announcement, published through the Official State Gazette (BOE), includes the categories of "Food of Spain Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Bitter Green Fruity," "Food of Spain Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Sweet Green Fruity," and "Food of Spain Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Ripe Fruity." Moreover, for oils from organic production, there is no classification by categories, existing only a single category, "Food of Spain Best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil," the document specified. Thus, the oil that has obtained the best score in the tasting phase and in the physicochemical evaluation, will be awarded the Special Prize "Food of Spain Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil."
