Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has approved the export of 20,000 chicks to Ghana and 6 million table eggs to Libya, with the intention of opening new export opportunities in the poultry industry. The country's production of table eggs in 2020 reached 13 billion, with self-sufficiency, and it has been recognized as a country that adopts isolated facilities according to OIE controls. The Ministry is also simplifying procedures for poultry wealth licensing and providing financial support to poultry farm owners to increase efficiency and conversion to a closed breeding system. Additionally, the government is allocating sites for poultry investment in the desert hinterland and providing financing opportunities for farmers to develop and increase efficiency.
