Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture is implementing measures to boost agricultural productivity under President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's leadership, with a strong focus on seed production. The Ministry is working towards providing approved, high-quality, and reasonably priced seeds to farmers, expanding the production of cotton and wheat seeds, and introducing sorghum as a summer crop. Additionally, the ministry is reducing the selling prices of seeds to farmers by at least 21% compared to previous years and increasing the production of seeds for various crops. A seed preparation and sifting station in Sohag Governorate is being established to provide quality seeds to farmers in Upper Egypt, aiming to increase farmers' income and reduce production costs. The ministry is also exploring ways to benefit from the labor available in these governorates and update equipment to ensure efficient performance.
