Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has provided a report on the progress of the Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) vaccination campaign for livestock, which commenced on September 18 across the country. The campaign has successfully vaccinated a total of 503,040 livestock, including 410,188 sheep and 92,852 goats, up to September 30, 2021. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to ensure the health and safety of livestock, and to enhance the production of red meat and dairy products. The Ministry is working in collaboration with various agencies and organizations to provide free veterinary services to small breeders, and has an adequate supply of animal vaccines. Breeders are encouraged to participate in these vaccination campaigns to prevent diseases and epidemics among their livestock.
