Agriculture incorporates hemp seeds into the Argentine Food Code

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation reports that today Resolution 31/2023 was published in the Official Gazette, which adds to the Argentine Food Code the hemp seeds that now make up the category of "edible seeds." Secretary Juan José Bahillo highlighted that "in this historical context we are presented with a unique opportunity with numerous ramifications through an intelligent and successful development of the industrial-horticultural hemp industry (Cannabis sativa L.). In fact, the current context global market provides important spaces to compete with quality and excellence through the production of various products derived from this ancient crop."
