In the first half of 2020, Argentine exports of meats, fruits, and vegetables experienced growth despite the COVID-19 pandemic and mandatory quarantine, as reported by the National Service of Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa). Meat exports saw a 14% increase, with China as the main importer, and fruit exports, particularly lemons and kiwi, surged by 57% and 67% respectively. Vegetable exports also rose by 15%, with Brazil as the primary destination. These increases highlight Argentina's ability to maintain export income and domestic supply amidst global challenges, with Senasa's actions and regulations playing a crucial role in facilitating trade and minimizing virus transmission risks.
