During the year 2025, the Agro Rural Program consolidated significant advances in the execution of the project “Improvement of coverage services for the competitiveness of guinea pig producers”, a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the technological raising of guinea pigs as a key activity for food security and the rural economy of Peru. The project, which began in October 2020, has an investment of S/27,789,104.50 and is valid until June 2026, directly benefiting 13,500 agricultural units located in the regions of Cajamarca, Lima, Cusco, Moquegua, Ancash, Junín, Apurímac, and Arequipa. At the end of 2025, Agro Rural completed the integral execution of the technical and management components of the project, achieving and even surpassing the scheduled goals.
