Agroclimatic risk forecast for potato cultivation in Peru

Senamhi has published the agroclimatic risk forecast for potato cultivation from September to November 2024. It is expected that daytime thermal conditions would predominate as above normal in the Andean region, while the coast would present temperatures within normal in September, from normal to lower in October, and from normal to higher in November. Meanwhile, nighttime thermal conditions would be lower on the coastal coast during the quarter, while, in the Andean region, in September and November, normal to lower conditions are expected in the central and southern highlands, in October, normal to higher in the central eastern and southern highlands; and normal to lower in the central western highlands. Regarding rainfall, in September, normal conditions are expected on the northern and central coast, except for the southern coast, which would be below normal, while the Andean region would present below-normal rainfall conditions.
