The event is the result of a broad partnership between Embrapa Cotton, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture (MDA), the Arribaçã NGO, AS-PTA Agroecology and Family Agriculture, the Paraíba Company for Research, Rural Extension, and Land Regularization (Empaer), and the Borborema Agroecology Network (RBA). The RBA is the first Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) to act in organic certification in Paraíba, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable production and the strengthening of family agriculture. The main objective of the field day is to present the production system of organic cotton and its agro-food consortia, highlighting the economic, social, and environmental importance of this productive chain in the Agreste region of Paraíba.
