Mexico's National Service of Health, Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) has announced the discovery of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAI) AH5N1 in three broiler chicken farms in Aguascalientes, housing a total of 826,800 birds. In response, the General Directorate of Animal Health (DGSA) has imposed a quarantine on these farms and has initiated the process of depopulation, cleaning, disinfection, and vacuuming. An epidemiological investigation is underway, involving the testing of samples from properties within a 10-kilometer radius of the affected farms.
