REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ahead of 2026, the prices of various food commodities nationally are monitored to be relatively stable, with some commodities even showing a downward trend. This condition is in line with the maintenance of supply and smooth distribution as a result of the government's strengthened supervision in maintaining price stability during Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru). According to the National Strategic Food Price Information Data (PIHPS) managed by Bank Indonesia, the average national food prices in traditional markets on Wednesday (31/12/2025) or ahead of the new year 2026 show a downward trend compared to the Christmas period the previous week. This development reflects the beginning of market adjustment after increased consumption during the year-end holidays, although some commodities remain at relatively high levels.
