On January 1, 2026, according to traders, the price of live pigs delivered to slaughterhouses in Ho Chi Minh City increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching a range of 64,500 – 67,000 VND/kg for pigs from breeding companies. Meanwhile, the price of live pigs from small-scale breeders remains stable, fluctuating between 55,000 – 65,000 VND/kg. The number of pigs brought to the Hoc Mon agricultural and food wholesale market (Ho Chi Minh City) on the night of December 31 and morning of January 1 reached 405 tons, an increase of 21 tons compared to the beginning of the week. Despite the slight increase in the price of live pigs, the price of pork at the market remains unchanged compared to the beginning of the week, commonly ranging from 78,000 – 85,000 VND/kg. Therefore, the price of mixed pork at wholesale markets also continues to be stable.
