Akıncı: "Water is the most strategic resource of production and the future"

Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTB) Board Chairman Mehmet Akıncı drew attention to the effects of rising temperatures and decreasing rainfall on agricultural production, emphasizing that the protection and efficient use of water resources are critical for the country's economy. Akıncı said that water is not only a natural resource but also forms the basis of production, employment, and food security. Pointing out that the drought experienced across Turkey, particularly in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, should no longer be considered a periodic problem but a permanent reality, Akıncı said, "Climate change is no longer outside our door, it is inside our home.
