Egypt is the world's leading producer of dates, with production reaching 1.9 million tons from 19 million fruitful and 23 million overall palm trees. The country has seen increased exports, reaching $88 million, largely to Morocco, and aims to expand to India and China. The focus is on cultivating the Medjool variety, with 1.5 million palm trees already planted, targeting $150 to $200 million in exports in the next three years. Toshka Farm, with 1.7 to 1.8 million palm trees, is a key export location. The New Valley, Aswan, Wadi El Natrun, and El Alamein are also significant areas for palm cultivation, with plans to expand and increase production.
