Al Moutmir: More than 5,951 Olive Demonstration Platforms deployed across Morocco

Since the launch of the Al Moutmir initiative, more than 5,951 Olive Demonstration Platforms (DFPs) have been deployed across Morocco, covering 40 provinces. This news was shared during the 13th edition of Al Moutmir Open Innovation Lab, a virtual event bringing together experts, farmers and industry players. In 2022-2023, the Cherifian Phosphate Office (OCP) revealed that a total of 1,251 olive PFDs were established, affecting 427 farmers in various agricultural provinces of the country. These platforms have encompassed all varieties and modes of driving, with notable results. Data published by OCP indicate an increase of almost 15% in the average yield per hectare at the national level for olive PFDs compared to farmers' control plots, with variability ranging from 5% to 100%. The national average yield recorded within the PFDs was 3.9 t/ha, reaching a record of 17 t/ha in an intensive system, while the control plots recorded a national average yield of more than 3.4 t/ha.
