Gyeonggi Province in South Korea announced that all pig farms within the quarantine zone or with epidemiological relationships in relation to the recent outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Yangju have tested negative. The province mobilized 160 disinfection vehicles and 32 livestock quarantine officers to conduct examinations and disinfection. The province plans to continue surveillance activities until movement restrictions are lifted. Since the first appearance of ASF in domestic pigs in 2019, 49 cases have occurred in 19 cities and counties in Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon, and Gyeongbuk, and 4,200 cases have been confirmed in wild boars nationwide.
