China's decision to delay by another two months the outcome of the investigation into beef imports brought relief to the Brazilian cattle market. According to analyst Fernando Henrique Iglesias from Safras & Mercado, the sector had been awaiting this decision for months. He states that the extension is good news, especially after weeks of strong volatility in the futures market for finished cattle. Iglesias explains that the market had been registering a "quite aggressive drop," influenced by speculations about possible Chinese restrictions.
