Hungary is a major horseradish producer, with over a third of European production coming from the country. Most of the producers and cultivation areas are located in the county of Hajdú-Bihar, with regulations introduced in 2021 to ensure transparency in the purchase process. However, an increase in production has led to a surplus and a drop in prices, prompting the Ministry of Agriculture to encourage cooperation among producers for better market stability and to take advantage of available opportunities for development and support.
