December corn futures in Chicago rose by 6.7% over the month to $173.6/t on expectations of renewed purchases of U.S. agricultural products by China, ignoring the new forecast from China's Ministry of Agriculture regarding an increase in corn yield and a reduction in its imports into the country. The rise in prices for the cheapest corn on the world market, American corn, has led to higher prices in South Korea. South Korean animal feed producer Nonghyup Feed Inc (NOFI) on November 12 purchased at a tender 75,000 tons of feed corn from Agrocorp and Lotte at prices of $255.9 and $265.5/t C&F with delivery by February 15, 2026. Recall that in October, Korean importers were buying corn at a price of about $235/t C&F for delivery in December-January.
