Scientists from Voronezh State Agrarian University and the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have developed a new soybean variety named 'Vasilisa' with a yield of up to 29 centners per hectare and a protein content of up to 40% or higher. This early-ripening variety, which took ten years to develop, is expected to increase farm profits by about 25% and has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, with a patent received. Voronezh Agrarian University, established in 1912, continues to work on other soybean developments for future registration.
