A violent storm affected several towns in the southern part of Córdoba province this weekend, causing significant damage in the town of Etruria and surrounding areas. Although no fatalities were recorded, there were productive disasters in agricultural establishments, the collapse and breakage of silo plants and silo bags, as well as material damage to infrastructure, private homes, and public buildings. Wind gusts – which in some areas exceeded 170 km/hour – caused roof blow-offs, fallen trees and poles, partial interruptions of the electrical service, and flooding of streets. The Undersecretary of Municipalities of Córdoba, Natalio Graglia, met this Sunday with the mayor of Etruria, Maximiliano Andrés, who toured the most affected neighborhoods of the town of about 5,000 inhabitants to coordinate the first assistance actions.
