The wheat harvest in Australia in the 2025/26 MY is expected to be 32-35 million tons, which will correspond to the level of the previous season (34.1 million tons) and significantly exceed the 10-year average (27.6 million tons), reports Reuters based on a survey of analysts.
The Australian barley harvest in 2025/26 MY is expected to reach 13.1-16 million tons (13.3 million tons in 2024/25 MY and 11 million tons on average over 10 years), and canola - 5.8-7.2 million tons (6.1 million tons in 2024/25 MY and 4.8 million tons on average over 10 years).
It should be noted that the government agency ABARES will publish its harvest forecasts in early September.
The harvest will begin in November-December, and its results will strongly influence global prices. It is worth noting that December wheat futures are currently trading at $5-7/ton higher than September futures.
