Spain's Minister of Agriculture, Carmen Crespo, has called for the European Union to protect black olives from unfair US tariffs, which are causing over 150 million euros in losses to the Andalusian sector. She also urged the EU to make the Transformation and Resilience Plan's aid lines more flexible and to consider special aid to address water shortages faced by Andalusian farmers. Additionally, she requested a reduction in sector taxes and changes to the Common Agricultural Policy's eco-schemes. The Minister also sought support for an increase in bluefin tuna fishing possibilities and expressed concerns about potential swordfish cuts, threatening the Mediterranean fishing sector.
