Anec raises forecasts for Brazilian soybean, corn and soybean meal exports in December

SÃO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil's soybean exports are expected to reach 1.57 million tonnes in December, compared to 1.24 million in the previous week's forecast, a report by the National Association of Grain Exporters (Anec) showed on Tuesday. Even so, domestic shipments of the oilseed would fall by more than 50% compared to December last year, when there was a greater supply to maintain volumes in the off-season. Brazil exported 3.79 million tonnes in the same month of 2023, when the country closed the year with record exports of 101.3 million tonnes of soybeans. For 2024, shipments are now forecast by Anec at 97.4 million tonnes. Brazilian corn shipments abroad were forecast at 3.96 million tonnes this month, compared to 3.59 million in the previous forecast and 6.46 million in the same period last year.
