The Association of Meat Industries of Spain (Anice) has valued in a statement the decision of the European Parliament (EP) to reserve names such as steak, escalope, or hamburger for products that contain meat, which would curb their use for vegan foods. Anice has welcomed the amendment that the EP has accepted, in Strasbourg (France), within its vote to revise the Common Organization of Markets of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which introduces a new definition of meat, which will be limited to "edible parts of animals."
