The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency has announced that Shine Muscat grapes from South Korea can now be exported to Australia, following an agreement to apply the same export quarantine requirements as other grape varieties like Campbell Early and Kyoho. This decision, resulting from discussions with Australian authorities since 2024, aims to address the domestic oversupply issue and diversify overseas sales channels, which currently include Taiwan and the United States. The inclusion of Shine Muscat grapes is expected to boost farmers' incomes and enhance the competitiveness of domestic grape farmers, with the agreement set to be implemented by 2025.
