Another 5 thsd tons of corn will be shipped to Malawi as part of Grain from Ukraine

As part of the Grain from Ukraine program, Ukraine will deliver almost 5 thousand tons of corn to Malawi in the coming weeks. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the X network. “Ukraine has supplied 14.5 thousand tons of corn to Malawi under the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine. Almost 5 thousand tons more will be delivered in the coming weeks. I am grateful to the UN World Food Program and partners for supporting these efforts,” Zelensky wrote. He noted that this year Malawi is experiencing a devastating drought that has destroyed a significant portion of local corn production and caused an acute food security situation. “This supply of Ukrainian corn will help to stabilize the situation and meet the monthly needs of more than 1.5 million Malawians,” the President noted.
