Another increase in carrot prices in Ukraine

Ukrainian carrot producers continue to confidently raise selling prices for their products, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. Market operators explain the latest price increase in this segment by the increased demand from wholesale companies and retail chains, which continue to purchase these root crops for further sale. So, since the beginning of this week alone, carrots have increased in price to 23-30 UAH/kg, ($0.55-0.71/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the offered batches of products, which is on average 15% more expensive than at the end of the last working week. Producers explain the price increase in this segment by several reasons at once. First of all, the upward price trend is associated with a noticeable reduction in the supply of substandard products, since supplies from unequipped warehouses have fallen to a minimum.
