The Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) has reported significant price fluctuations in the Budapest wholesale market for various agricultural products. In the 14th week, 47-57 mm spherical tomatoes saw a 44% increase from the previous year, while sweet peppers had a 10% decrease with Turkish imports costing more. Cabbage prices have decreased from last year, but Italian cauliflower and broccoli are cheaper than domestic counterparts. Radish and spring onion prices have changed, with domestic radishes becoming cheaper and imported radishes more expensive. Strawberry and apple prices have risen by 20-28% year-on-year. The meat industry faces a challenging task as it struggles with increasing feed prices and decreased demand from the HoReCa sector, which may lead to higher consumer prices. Meanwhile, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary for March 2021 was HUF 111.76 per kilogram, marking a 1% increase from February and a 4% increase from the same month the previous year.
