The Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) aims to boost India's millet and value-added millet product exports to $100 million by 2023-24, a significant increase from the current $64.28 million. To achieve this, APEDA plans to send an Indian delegation, consisting of exporters, start-ups, and farmer-producer organizations, to 17 international events in 2023, in recognition of the United Nations' International Year of Millets. These events will be held in major markets across the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa, with the first event scheduled for October 15, 2022, in Paris. Additionally, APEDA will encourage Indian embassies and high commissions in key importing countries to enhance their promotion efforts to further boost demand for Indian millets.
