The Regional Agrarian Directorate of Apurímac has launched a project to enhance livestock production for 6,600 families across 200 communities in seven provinces, focusing on alpaca, llama, and sheep breeders. The initiative involves the installation of 378,000 queñua seedlings, construction of basic infrastructure, and development of nurseries for native forest species, aiming to improve livelihoods through the agrosilvopastoral system. It includes five key components: availability of native seedlings, installation of native plantations, agronomic management of pastures, adoption of appropriate livestock production technologies, and enhancement of producers' organizational capacity. This project seeks to integrate productive processes with conservation practices, enabling dual land use and income diversification for peasant families in high Andean areas.
