Arab countries increase purchases from Brazil

Brazil's exports to Arab countries totaled US$17.7 billion between January and September, up 25.6% over the same period in 2023, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) detailed by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Imports registered a small drop, to US$7.9 billion. The surplus is US$9.8 billion and the trade flow, US$25.6 billion. If the pace continues, Brazil should renew the record in trade with the Arabs achieved in 2023. US$681.9 million in sugar was shipped, with Algeria and Egypt as the main importers, and US$338.6 million in corn, mainly to Egypt. In the year, sugar exports to Arab countries totaled US$4.98 billion, an increase of 47.8% over the US$3.37 billion exported up to September 2023.
