Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Arab countries are looking to diversify their food suppliers and increase imports from Brazil. These countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Morocco, and Sudan, are seeking supplies of beef, chicken, fish, sugar, rice, milk products, corn, and fruits, as their previous main suppliers from Europe have been affected by the pandemic. The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has convened a virtual conference with 23 agribusiness entities to address the new demand. In 2019, Arab countries purchased US$12.12 billion worth of products from Brazil, marking a 6.3% increase from the previous year.
