Argentina: Cotton harvest progresses well

A recent Weekly Climate and Culture Bulletin released by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed that Argentina is experiencing a cold climate with sporadic rains, which has been advantageous for winter grains. Weather conditions have been remarkably mild, with showers favoring grain growth in areas where moisture is adequate. Despite this, rainfall has been very erratic across the country, with La Pampa and western parts of Buenos Aires registering over 10 mm of precipitation. In contrast, other regions experienced little or no rain, causing little disruption to field operations. Weekly temperature averages remained stable within 1°C of normal. Daytime maximums ranged from 10 degrees (degrees C) in the fields of southwest Buenos Aires to 30 degrees in Chaco and surroundings.
