Argentina strengthens prevention measures in the face of an ASF outbreak in the Dominican Republic

Buenos Aires - The National Service for Agri-food Health and Quality (Senasa) reinforces preventive measures before the immediate notification of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) about an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in pigs from backyard farms in the provinces of Sánchez Ramírez and Montecristi, Dominican Republic. Through a statement dated July 28, 2021, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) made public that in the Dominican Republic, through an existing cooperative surveillance program with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service USDA-APHIS, sent samples to the laboratory of the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in the United States.
